turner classic movies is showing killer of sheep (1977) right now. this culturally significant film was written, directed, beautifully shot and edited by charles burnett and was his first feature, which he made while a graduate student at ucla. the film has only recently been given a wide release, i think maybe in the past few years, so if you haven't seen it, you should definitely check it out.
